Bryan Derballa - Cai Guo-Qiang's STAGES piece

Bryan Derballa posted a few photos of Cai Guo-Qiang 's process for creating his piece, "Tree with Yellow Blossoms", for the STAGES show. Having seen the videos of his process at the Guggenheim show a few years ago, the process documentation really gives the final piece more life. It was captivating to see how the artist and his assistants lay out the gunpowder by hand and then ignite it to make these pictures at small to extra-large scales.
