FF - Mark McKee at HVW8

Nice info on the Mark McKee show at HVW8 over at FF. I remember really really wanting the Jeremy Klein board up there, back when he was still skating the and not on Tom Green's show.

Girls Longboard Crew

I'm not a huge longboard fan, but they are fun to ride once in a while. This video is of a girls longboard crew in Madrid. Fast forward to about the 6:30 mark to see some crazy layback powerslides.

Chocolate - Fighter Jet Series

New Fighter Jet Series from Chocolate. I love the silhouettes of the F-4 Phantom and the F-14 Tomcat. Too bad they're both retired.

Shanghai 5 - Documentary by Charles Lanceplaine

Shanghai 5 is a documentary by Charles Lanceplaine about the scene, people, skate culture, and chinese perception of skaters in Shanghai. It has a good amount of interviews that showed some insight into the difference in perception here vs. there - even how the one child policy influences parents view of skating. Education and professional success are higher priorities, and most parents disapprove and see skating as unproductive, even if it is just a hobby. On the bright side, the spots there look amazing.

Hermes - oh wow...

By far and away the dumbest/lamest/shameless-est co-opting of skating by a brand that I have ever seen. Why does Hermes think that skateboarding and fingerboarding (seriously?) have anything to do with their company? Next thing you know, they'll make an $1000 gold skate tool and a $2000 gold grip tape razorblade.

SK8tv - Printing t-shirts and wheels

This video goes way way back to the early 90's maybe? I remember watching this as a kid and thinking, I could probably make this stuff in the garage. So, years and years later, turns out we finally figured out how to screenprint. Technology hasn't changed much and they still make things the same old way. SK8tv was a cool show and I wish it were still around.

Burn

Below is a pretty cool video from Burn, an energy drink maker. It's a lot cooler than the Gatorade commercials with Chad Ortiz, but not as snarky as the Nike P-Rod commercials. Props to Burn for making a fun video that isn't about drinking their product.

eS - Duran

It's about that time for new fall sneaker releases. The Duran from eS caught my eye. It's got a modern oxford/boat kinda style to it. I like the hidden stitching for the toe cap.

An amazing photo by Rocky Norton of Monico Candelaria over at the Fresh Crops section of The Skateboard Mag. Sometimes the simplest tricks make for the best images.
