Reiulf Ramstad Architects - Kindergarten Fagerborg

Amazing Kindergarten Faberborg in Oslo, Norway by Reiulf Ramstad Architects. I love the monolithic undulating diagram.

  1. Wow, that stairway is mesmerizing!

  2. Interesting design, although I think it would be more suitable as artist's studio or an avantgarde meeting place, but...kindergarten? It looks more like a WWII bomb shelter...but yes, I agree with Maia, the staircase is an interesting solution. I once saw a giant disused boiler with holes drilled in it, looked fantastic.

  3. Heather - I'm actually an architect that works on K-8 schools and when we design a clean modern space, we make sure to take pictures of it in that state - just before the teachers and kids get there and fill every possible surface and area with art, learning materials, project stations, writing, etc. The project is a minimal backdrop for the tons and tons of kids' work that goes up once school starts. If you went there now, I would bet anything that it doesn't look as clean as the photos.
