Awon Golding - Elements

Sometimes Facebook is good for more than just keeping track of your friends' Halloween costumes and their cute babies - last week I came across a middle school friend's new business, and I am so smitten.

Awon Golding is a London-based milliner whose work melds Eastern and Western cultures. Her Elements line is inspired by traditional Japanese arts and crafts methods such as origami, sashiko and lacquering. The five pieces in the collection represent the five elements according to Japanese tradition – Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Void – and the balance between form, colour and technique.
