The Working Proof: Amaranta Martinez - Birdies

Love this letterpress print by Amaranta Martinez, aka Piktorama. Amaranta loves birds, patterns, and textures, and the print, Birdies, is a perfect combination of all of these things. The textures are especially great in letterpress.

15% of each print sold is donated to the Kids In Need Foundation. Amaranta is about to become a mom to twins(!) and believes that the KINF's work is important in that it provides educational supplies to kids in need. To date, over 1.6 million students have been served by KINF. Buy the print here, and read our interview with Amaranta here.

  1. I love this, too...I think it's the subtle (repeated), yet bold (the bug has personality and placement: nature) graphics, the whimsy and creative lines and the color and patterns that are at once static yet variable. A lot going on for the brain to absorb=interesting! A modern twist on retro....I could go on and on. Art is so stimulating! Thanks for the post. Pam

We've been getting some spam comments in the past few months, and so have turned on comment moderation, but if you are a real, live person not touting drugs, we'll get your comment up, asap! Also, comments left under user names that are obvious spam keywords (some recent ones: dining room tables, organic baby cribs) will be deleted. Thanks!
