OMA's Mandarin Oriental Hotel - Burned Down
Wow...OMA's Mandarin Oriental Hotel, part of the China Central Television’s new headquarters burned down today. The building was apparently set on fire by stray fireworks from Chinese New Year celebrations. Luckily, it seems that no one was hurt, but it's a real shame to have so much hard work go down the drains in a matter of hours. More at the NY Times and Arch Daily. Firstly, LOVE your daily blog! Secondly, I was really saddened to hear about this building going down in flames, what a terrible waste... I think it was a magnificent design and I hope they can finance a rebuild.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog love, Heather! :)
