Ryan Frank sent us his latest project, Isabella, which will be launched this September at the London Design Festival. Isabella is a stool inspired by traditional, hand-carved African seating, that deviates from the use traditional materials (exotic hard woods) in that it's constructed instead of Strawboard. Strawboard is a sustainable formaldehyde-free material made entirely from compressed straw. Ryan then wrapped the Strawboard in 100% felted wool, for both comfort and to allow for a broad range of colors. Ryan plans to expand the line with styles in bamboo and natural rubbers.
