ICFF - Progetti

Clocks are another hard find for me...I really love Progetti's line of clocks - they are fun and playful without being cheesy like so many are. The first two were designed by Alberto Sala, and the right-most one by Ilya Titov.

  1. Anthropologie have clearly bought this clock from Projetti [see the made in Italy] rather than ripping it off...they buy from independant makers and designers all the time, and the pieces may then retail for much higher than standard because their mark up is bigger than the majority of distributors. [Projetti obviously choose to keep their wholesale price the same regardless - hence the discrepency]

...I would perhaps edit this post for fear of slander claims ;/

Looovely clocks though. Really caught my eye!

  2. Hi Abigail,

Thanks for the comment. I wish it was that Anthropologie bought the clocks from Projetti, but I spoke to them (Projetti) at ICFF and they were the ones who told me that Anthropologie ripped off their design. I had asked them directly about it because I had seen it Anthropologie and was curious...Pretty crazy, huh?

  3. Geez...totally. I am really suprised as I have always noticed how sometimes antho credit designers, and sometimes not [figuring that this was to do with whether the original designer had online sales etc]....but this is just wierd!

I wonder if they bought them via a thrid party or something?....if not, hope Projetti will do something about it - that is EXACTLY the same! they must be so annoyed...as it is a great product!

  4. Yeah...I agree. Apparently Urban Outfitters (owned by the same people as Anthropologie) is notorious for stealing designs. There are several websites dedicated to tracking the items that they copy. It's depressing!

  5. Wow! I can't believe how blatant that is -- to think they charge that much for it and it is a complete knock-off.

    enjoying your blog, btw
